I was listening to No Agenda episode #131 and heard Adam Curry talking about an interesting Dutch bicycle called Bakfiets – which is basically a three wheeled bike with two wheels in the front and one in the back. Also in the front is a cargo area… box or place for kids to ride around in.
I did a quick search and found a couple places you can look into if you want to buy or rent one of these Bakfiets. In the USA, start with the Dutch Bike Company located in Seattle, Chicago and New York. They also have a dealer in Minneapolis, Minnesota – at Varsity Bike and Transit.
The official Bakfiets web site in the Netherlands can be found at Bakfiets.nl. But… dont’ stop there. It’s very likely you can buy one of these on eBay or from a bike shop if you live in or near a fairly large city. Do a little Googling to find one near you…

Check this out, how about a 77 mile constructor's cargo bike race (oregonmanifest.com), Saturday October 3rd. These guys are rocking it, building some incredible stuff: http://metrofiets.com/ (photos, etc). We're rooting for them. World championship cargo bike races here we come.
