Delgadillos Snow Cap in Seligman Arizona

by Uniquely Cool on August 21, 2009

delgadillos-snow-cap-seligman-arizonaWay back in the 1980’s…. around 1986 to be exact – my brother, his friend Dave and I were on a road trip back from California.  On the way back we went through the Mojave Desert.  At around 2 a.m. our car broke down 50 miles from Seligman, Arizona.  My brother hitchhiked to the nearest town and the next morning came back with a tow truck…. which took us to Seligman.

Anyway, while waiting for our car to get fixed we spent some time at a really bizarre drive in called Delgadillo’s Snow Cap.  The owner had a joke for every occasion.  ”You wanna look before you order?”  And a “Look” candy bar would be slid across the counter.  And then there was the fake ketchup bottle… the owner squirted it and out came some red string… which was funny and a bit startling at the same time!

Delgadillo’s Snow Cap is located on historic Route 66.  Here you can see the exact location via Google Maps.  So, if you have plans to travel to or from California or somewhere along Route 66, be sure to put this in your travel plans.  As far as I can tell, they don’t have an official web site, but here are more details, address, phone, etc:
